Our approach to everything is soil science-based. Land is soil. Soil is the “living filter” component for treating water in on-site sewage system and stormwater facilities. Hydric soil in wetlands is the evidence of long duration saturation, which supports the plant community. Alluvial soils are accumulated sediments on floodplain landscapes from eons of channels overflowing. Soils damaged by compaction due to high pressure impacts, especially when wet, remain damaged for centuries. Soils need aerated pore spaces in order to sanitize.
